The Moschino brand was created by the italian fashion designer Franco Moschino. He and his brand gained fame due to the very colourful and sometimes even quite eccentric designs on one hand, but also because of his vast social commitments during the early nineties and his open criticism of the fashion industry.
After Moschino died in 1994, his long time assistant Rossella Jardini became the creative mind behind the fashion label. Since 1999 the Moschino brand belongs to the Aeffe fashion group. In 2006 the outfits of the Olympic winter games in Torino were designed by Moschino. Stars such as Kylie Minogue and Madonna have become big fans of Maschinos unmistakeable design, and gave the creation of their stage outfits into the hands of the Italian fashion company. No wonder, as style icons they have created new trends again and again, just like Moschino.
